- 4 cups filtered water
- 2 tablespoons loose rooibos tea or 4 rooibos tea bags
- Lemon slices or juice to taste
- Sweetener of choice honey, stevia, or sugar, optional
- Ice cubes for iced version
- Optional Fresh mint or fruit for garnish
Bring the filtered water to a boil using a kettle or pot.
Place loose rooibos tea in a strainer/infuser, or use tea bags, and add to the teapot or pitcher.
Pour the boiling water over the tea and let steep for 5–7 minutes (longer for stronger flavor).
Remove the tea bags or strain out the leaves.
Add lemon juice and sweetener if desired while the tea is hot. Stir well.
For hot tea: Serve immediately in cups.
For iced tea: Let the tea cool for 10 minutes, pour over ice in glasses, and garnish with lemon slices or mint.
Store extra tea in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
