Equipment

  • Mesh strainer or cheesecloth
  • Milk frother, mason jar, or steam wand
  • Espresso machine or coffee brewer
  • Measuring spoons and cups
  • Microwave (if using mason jar method)

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Fruit Loops or any sweetened cereal
  • 1/4 cup milk whole, 2%, or oat
  • 1 shot espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
  • Optional: 1 tsp brown sugar
  • Optional: 1/8 tsp vanilla extract
  • Optional: pinch of salt
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream crushed cereal, foam art

Instructions

Step 1 – Infuse the Milk

  • Add 1/4 cup of cereal to 1/4 cup of milk. Let it steep at room temperature for 15–30 minutes, or refrigerate overnight for stronger flavor.

Step 2 – Strain the Milk

  • Use a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth to separate the milk. Discard or reuse cereal. Add 1 tsp brown sugar or vanilla if desired.

Step 3 – Froth the Milk

  • Steam or froth the infused milk using a steam wand, frother, or by shaking heated milk in a mason jar. Aim for silky microfoam.

Step 4 – Brew the Espresso

  • Prepare 1 shot of espresso or brew 1/2 cup of strong coffee using your preferred method (e.g., French press, AeroPress).

Step 5 – Assemble the Latte

  • Pour espresso into a cup. Slowly top with frothed cereal milk. Add toppings like whipped cream, crushed cereal, or cinnamon.

Notes

Try Cinnamon Toast Crunch for a warm spice twist or Cocoa Pebbles for a chocolatey latte.
Oat milk offers a creamy plant-based alternative and froths well.
Store extra cereal milk in the fridge for up to 5 days.
